Join us as we talk with Michelle Haar, LCSW. Michelle has been in private practice for over 20 years with a specialty in grief and loss.

Michelle talks about how her experiences with loss during adolescence shaped her career path. As an incoming senior in high school, Michelle’s first love died in a car accident. A year later, he grandmother died after refusing treatment for leukemia. And shortly after that, her best friend died from spinal meningitis.

Navigating college applications, senior year festivities and her freshman year in college while also intensely grieving these losses was challenging at times.

Michelle talks about how “living in the and” taught her to honor her pain as well as the joys she was experiencing at that time in her life.
